Chapmans Peak Drive – New Rockfall Shelter at Gulley 15

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Mowana Engineers has been appointed by Entilini Concession on behalf of the Western Cape Government to undertake the design of a concrete portal structure for rockfall mitigation in Gully 15 along the scenic Chapmans Peak Drive. The purpose of the portal is to reduce maintenance requirements at Gully 15 and to minimize potential damage to Chapmans Peak Drive. This will help prevent extended road closures in the event of severe damage to the catch fences when there is a major rockfall. The project is currently in the detailed design stage.
