Rail Bridges in Namibia

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Mowana Engineers was appointed by Windhoek Consulting Engineers for the Conceptual, Preliminary and Detail Design of 22 new railway bridges on the new 400km long rail link between Kranzberg and Tsumeb, Namibia. Post-tensioned precast concrete segmental construction was chosen as the preferred option to accommodate the various span length configurations. The existing steel bridges will be demolished once the existing railway line has been decommissioned. Construction of the first 8 bridges will commence soon.
